[Rei exhales shakily into the phone. He's been hiding in the auditorium for the last ten minutes, trying not to throw up (again).]

The mats...?

[Was that what he was supposed to be doing? He glances around.]

...They're all here, Rin-san. You're okay, aren't you?

... huh?

[Okay, that was a weird question. But Rei sounds weird, too...]

Yeah, I'm okay. [...] But you don't sound okay. Something's up?

I guess that makes sense... as he had black hair...

[And then, like a flip switching, he jolts back into alertness. He has to warn his friends, in case...]

Rin-san! It was awful. I saw... I went into the restroom, and in the stall there was... there was a boy but he was dead! He was dead and there were chunks missing and- and-

[He has to stop and fight nausea back again. If he ever stops being nauseous it will be a cause for celebration.]

[Wait, what.]

Whoa, whoa, hold on a second there, Rei! Breathe! [And... try not to throw up, geez.] You're not making a lot of sense...

[He does slow down, take a few deep breaths, and try again.]

I saw a dead body, Rin-san. It had... pieces missing, like somebody wanted the muscles and fat.

[He doesn't even want to think of what for, though he was there for some speculation.]

There... [His voice wavers.] There was so much blood, I've never seen... so much blood.

[Oh wtf Rin. He's just woken up realizing he's missed two and a half days and now this.

He doesn't go to find them yet (he's been filled in on some of the situation, and the school seems to be less dangerous as long as the other students are still around), instead pulling out his phone to text Rin.]

Might I ask what my suspension is for?

[A buzz on his phone, a familiar name acting familiar again. By all means, Rin should be glad, should feel relieved that Rei is talking to them again, and yet...

Yet he's still angry. At this school, yes, but also at Rei for trying to mess with something greater than he could handle.]

For skipping practice without prior notice. I had to reshuffle our training regimen last minute because you were absent.

[That's what this is about? Rei narrows his eyes, scowling at his phone. He'd started walking while he waited for a reply, but now he stops in the hallway again, quickly typing his response.]

I had detention, and I only learned about it Friday myself. There wasn't much I could do.

[No, that's not really what this is about. But what is Rin supposed to do, yell at Rei for being stupid and messing with the school on his own?

Nah. That would be too straightforward. Better go through a thousand hoops first.]

If /you/ had told me about it /as soon as/ you heard you were getting detention, I would still have had a few hours to prepare. Instead, I had to learn about it /at/ practice from /someone else./

[ While your character is sleeping during the night, someone appears to sneak up on them and slides a pair of glasses onto your character's face. Your character will feel as if they can't move while this is happening, and the person - without question our prankster - seems to be talking to himself. ]

Wonder if these even work? Whatever, it'd be stupid if I tried it. [ His voice may be familiar, actually, although there's something uncharacteristic about what he's saying or doing. He is most certainly one of the transfer students. A short chant, and your character will feel themselves fall suddenly back into slumber. When your character wakes up, they will be wearing rose-tinted glasses.

For the remainder of the 21st, while wearing the rose-tinted glasses, your character will see a huge orchard of cherry trees stretching across a vast expanse of land, and can somewhat navigate it if they continue to wear the glasses. The walls of the school might feel like the trees themselves, and light touches could be mistaken as sakura falling and grazing them. Every now and then, a low snort can be heard, like a disgruntled pack animal. If your character continues to wear these glasses for too long, something will grab hold of them in the forest vision, while in real life, they will seize up and blackout. The blackout will last for roughly an hour. ]

Ah, me? Well, I don't know if I would be so good at being the president... I miss part of the club every week for swimming practice. But I'm sure you or Hajime-san would make wonderful presidents!
